Error: 70-13 (Used Strip Error)

Troubleshooting a "Used Strip" error when strip is new

Possible cause one: Wine has seeped into the strip port and is wetting any new test strip that is being inserted. Tip: See section 4, “Cleaning the analyzer” in the Sentia User Guide.

  1. Remove the protective cap that sits over the Sentia strip port.
  2. Using absorbent, lint free paper, carefully blot up the excess liquid from the inside of the protective cap. Note: While cleaning spills, always keep the strip port pointed downwards to avoid getting liquid into the analyzer.
  3. Using a new strip of lint free paper each time, continue to insert the paper into the strip port until it comes out clean.
  4. If the error still persists, let the device dry overnight.
  5. If the error still persists the next day, move to troubleshooting steps below.

Possible cause two: The strips in the vial have become compromised with moisture.

  1. Test again using a new vial of strips that have been unopened.
  2. If the new vials of strips do not work, please contact your Supplier. Include detailed information such as Device Serial Number and Software Number.
  3. If the vial of new strips does work, it is likely the strips giving the error were compromised by moisture or temperature. Ensure strips are always stored at their recommended temperature, with the cap closed when not in use.
